Alan Blakeway's Saff rewrites the rule book as far building an absolutely mad Sierra is concerned, with a 4.0-litre V6 Cologne, twin turbos and a Jag supercharger... Impulse buying is something we've all done - purchasing an item spontaneously that perhaps we wouldn't ordinarily acquire, it just seemed like a good idea at the time! Alan Blakeway became familiar with the term impulse buying when he logged on to his eBay account just over two years ago. "I was after something to help promote my new business, Motor Works, and it was here I stumbled across the listing for the Saff, which I later won the bidding on," he explained. The car was located down in Darlington near Newcastle so Alan took the sizeable trek down from Scotland to pick up the rather wild unfinished project. When Alan collected the beast he was well aware the Saff. was in need of a bit of work. All the engine and running gear had already been fitted to the car and was up and running, but the bodywork was in desperate need of a touch-up, along with a few minor running problems.
