It is with great sadness that the El Northern Ireland (Nl) branch announces the passing of one of its most stalwart members and past Chair. Herbie joined the then Institute of Energy in the 1980s, while working for BP Energy in its Belfast office, specialising in contract energy management. He quickly became a committee member of the local branch - a position which he held until ill health recently forced him to stand down. At that time, Herbie was the longest serving member on the Nl branch committee, having held the position of Chair from 1998-2000 and Branch Forum representative for most of the past decade.
