EPA last week issued new use rules under TSCA for carbon nanotubes, tightening regulations on the widely used materials in order to protect workers from potential harm. The significant new use rules (SNURs) cover single- and multi-walled carbon nanotubes that were subject to pre-manufacture notices and consent orders last year — they in effect extend requirements and terms imposed by EPA on those companies to all other carbon nanotube manufacturers.
