A little-noticed Argentine agriculture ministry edict could seriously undermine the intellectual property rights of international biotechnology companies operating in that country by allowing domestic competitors to introduce knock-off seed varieties.Before agriculture minister Miguel Campos signed the edict last month,it appeared that soybean producers were ready to return to the negotiating table with Monsanto.Nevertheless,the resolution and Campos' strident attacks on Monsanto are creating an atmosphere of confrontation.
