Mexico's National Institute for Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Research (lNTFAP) plans to launch experimental plantings of biotech corn in October in the state of Sinaloa.In support of the project, the institute will enter into a technical cooperation agreement with Monsanto. Jose Antonio Garzon, a INIFAP researcher, predicts that two years of experimentation under tightly controlled conditions should provide scientific evidence that the seeds are safe for commercial planting in Mexico.
