EPA's decision to again review the herbicide atrazine has been branded as a politically motivated maneuver with no basis in sound science by agricultural groups and other stakeholders.That bald criticism cast a pall at a public administrative meeting of the FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel last week, where EPA outlined its atrazine review plan for 2010 for the scientists that will appraise the agency's approach for incorporating epidemiology and human incident data into the atrazine risk assessment, as well as EPA's evaluation of the herbicide's cancer and non-cancer effects.
