BP reported third quarter 2002 "pro forma results" of US272-million for its chemicals operations, up from US113-million for the 2001 third quarter. The results, BP said, were "adjusted for special items" to reflect an "impairment charge". For the first nine months of this year, BP results rose to US626-million from US203-million in the same year earlier period.
