What happens when light diffuses through a bowl of sugar? Although the process might seem simple, it is in fact a complicatedphysical problem. In the last ten years researchers have realized that have been scattered thousands of times. Several interesting interference phenomena that result from multiple light scattering have been observed, and it is predicted that interference can "trap"or localize the light inside a random system, preventing further diffusion.
