TEN years ago the European Physical Society, the French Physical Society, the Italian Physical Society and the Institute of Physics in the UK together launched Europhysics Letters. It was an ambitious undertaking, given the fact that most physicists are fairly set in their ways when deciding which journal to submit their work to for publication. However, Europhysics Letters has now grown to a circulation of more than a thousand in more than 30 countries.
