Ämnesövergripande samarbeten & studenters betyg - En jämförelse av betyg mellan elevgrupper vilka undervisats med olika undervisningsformer
Over the last few years, several studies have suggested that interdisciplinary collaborations in teaching is beneficial to students’ learning process. The Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) encourages Swedish teachers to work interdisciplinary, but the question is if interdisciplinary collaborations could result in higher grades? This study has found that the 408 students who participated in interdisciplinary collaborations within their science or biology courses have been graded significantly higher than the 474 students who did not. The 408 were also graded significantly higher in their science/biology courses compared to their medium grade in their diploma than the students within the non interdisciplinary course. However, students in high school (gymnasium) programmes that specifically prepared them for university studies were found to have been graded significantly lower in their science/biology courses compared to their medium grade, in their diploma, when their courses included interdisciplinary collaborations. This study could be interpreted as an indication that interdisciplinary collaborations within general-science or biology courses could affect students’ grades.
