In this paper, an efficient finite-difference time-domain algorithm for highperformance distributed memory vector/parallel computers is presented. The algorithm is developed in a manner which requires only one interprocessor communication per time step. Further techniques are introduced which lead to high levels of vectorism, and lead to excellent speedups and scalability. Illustrated examples based on the analysis of microwave circuit devices are presented demonstrating the accuracy, robustness, and efficiency of the parallel finite-difference time-domain algorithm.
