Phase I Archeological Survey of Six Proposed Spoil Areas for the Highway 313 RoadConstruction on the Fort Knox Military Reservation, Hardin County, Kentucky
In October 1993, the Fort Knox staff Archaeologist conducted a phase Iarchaeological survey of approximately 1.6 ha (4 acres) and a literature review of an additional 3.2 ha (8 acres) in six proposed soil spoil areas on the Fort Knox Military Reservation, Hardin County, Kentucky. Four of the spoil areas had been previously surveyed with negative results, and were not field inspected in the current study. The two spoil areas not previously surveyed were field inspected. The survey resulted in the discovery of no archaeological materials or deposits. It is recommended that the spoil areas be used as proposed.
