摘要

Interest in the use of open ended coaxial probes for dielectric measurementsstems from their suitability to a variety of applications in material science, chemical, biochemical and biomedical fields. This report deals with the theoretical principles involved in the implementation of this technique and the simplifying assumptions adopted in practice. A rigorous formulation based on transmission line theory will be derived and compared to a number of simpler models reported in the literature and used for dielectric measurements with various degrees of success. Complex permittivity, non-destructive measurement.
