摘要

This Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) establishes the engineering andqualification requirements for the Geographic Mapping CSCI (CSCI-4). The Geographic Mapping CSCI enables the MAGIC user to create, edit, and display both vector and raster based maps with an optical ability to overlay the user's data on a Unix-based workstation. The DeLorme Mapping System (DMS) is used to provide the map data and the overwhelming bulk of functionality for this CSCI with MAGIC providing a user friendly graphical user interface (GUI) to the underlying commercial off the shelf (COTS) package. Map data is retrieved and displayed in an average of 6 seconds from large digital databases. Once retrieved, any location in the world can be specified within 1 meter and all geographic data in the system may be located precisely in terms of its latitude and longitude or Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) position.
