In this report, a basic theorem of complementarity is established for the generalized variational-like inequality problem introduced by Parida and Sen. Some existence results for both generalized variational inequality and complementarity problems are established by employing this basic theorem of complementarity. In particular, some sets of conditions that are normally satisfied by a nonsolvable generalized complementarity problem are investigated. (kr)
