Tension and compression tests of medium carbon Cr-Mo steels quenched and tempered at 150 C showed that flow stresses increased linearly with carbon content. The flow stresses and strain hardening behavior are related to the carbon-dependent precipitation and dislocation substructure within the martensite laths and the interlath retained austenite.
