Radiographic images were stored on a laser optical disk and later displayed on a monitor in an attempt to assess the usefulness of this technology for archiving of radiographic images. The results of this study indicated that laser disc archiving of dental panoramic and bitewing radiographs is feasible and that this technology is also adequate for archiving certain medical and maxillofacial images.
