摘要

To determine the efficacy of resuscitative fluids currently utilized in military and civilian settings on the physiologic response to uncontrolled hemorrhage. Scope: Swine were subjected to a couple of different models over the length of this multi-year trial. Animals either underwent just a Grade V liver injury or were subjected to the lethal triad of trauma which included hemorrhage, hypothermia and coagulopathy. Over the course of this trial animals were randomized to several resuscitation models including but not limited to normal saline (NS), Lactated Ringer s (LR), 7.5% saline with 3% Dextran (HTS), Hextend (HEX),Lyohilized Plasma (LP), Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP), and Packed Red Blood Cells(prbc s). Physiologic parameters, coagulation assays and inflammatory mediators were compared. Significant findings will be highlighted throughout the body of this report but of most note, LR performed better than NS and LP performed as well if not better than FFP.
