Reports that MARC tags designed for bibliographic elements of monographs under Anglo-American Cataloging Rules can be used, with modifications, for bibliographic elements of technical reports on DD Form 1473, if the unknown designation is used when catalog entries are input to the OCLC system. The article includes tables showing rationale and application of tags in two orders: MARC tags to DD 1473 box numbers, and the reverse, DD 1473 numbers to MARC tags.
