摘要

Direct relationships are developed between the discrete Fourier transform of a two-dimensional (rectangular) array and the discrete Fourier transform of the one-dimensional array formed by scanning the two-dimensional one. The forward and inverse relations both take the form of sums involving certain coefficients which are defined as a sum of complex exponential func¬tions. It is shown that these coefficients can be expressed by a relatively simple formula. The method can be readily generalized for the reduction of dimension of transforms of arrays of higher dimensionality.
