摘要

In an effort toward the development of guidelines for consideration of thermal properties of ceramic in the design of electroacoustic projectors, a mathematical model for predicting changes in ceramic temperature of projectors operating at the high power levels was developed and tested. The change in ceramic temperature as a function of heat dissipated in the ceramic was measured for two projectors under various operating conditions at ARL's Lake Travis Test Station. A determination of the unknown constant of proportionality gamma was made on the basis of the data obtained. The average value gamma should be useful in estimating temperature rise in a sonar array similarly constructed,using Channelite 5400ceramic elements. The extent this value of gamma can be extrapolated is unknown at present. (Author)
