摘要

During this demonstration, we evaluated and validated the sue of nucleic acid-based tools for site assessment and bioremediation process monitoring at chlorinated solvent sites undergoing MNA, biostimulation, and/or bioaugmentation treatment. Use of these tools is anticipated to reduce remediation costs by 1. supporting identification of sites amenable to MNA; 2. predicting sites where biostimulation can be successfully implemented; 3. identifying sites where bioaugmentation is required early in the design process, and 4. recognizing sites where the reductive dechlorination process cannot be productively implemented.
