A dilatometer has been built primarily to determine glass transition temperatures in organic polymers. It has a much wider utility, however, such as for measuring coefficients of thermal expansion and other transitions, such as crystal-crystal transitions. Detailed descriptions of the apparatus, experimental procedures, calculations, and the computer programs used to reduce the data are given. (Author)
