摘要

The basic equations governing the behavior of spiral groove gas lubricated thrust bearings are derived, and the assumptions made during this derivation are stated and explained. From these equations, expressions for load for spiral groove thrust bearings are obtained, and optimum performance curves are presented for use by the designer.
