The cholesterol esters we investigated have many valuable properties [l], meriting wide utilization in science and technology [2]. Moreover, a knowledge of the processes of phase transformation and the conditions of formation of liquid crystals is a source of useful information on the pathogenesis of such diseases as atherosclerosis, anisotropic adiposis, etc. [3].
