This report has been compiled as part of the Technical Assistance Contractor's (TAC's) continuing efforts to improve the quality of its product to the US Department of Energy (DOE), and to reduce the costswhile maintaining a standard of excellence on the Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project. The report documents the lessons learned and the steps taken to benefit the project as a result. This study has multiple objectives, which fall under the following hierarchy: To examine and evaluate past successes and mistakes. To provide a record of lessons learned for the benefit and orientation of future staff members. To identify shortcomings of, and desired improvements to, current UMTRA Project practices and procedures. To establish a means for the future review and dissemination of lessons learned.
