After the selection of the better amylolytic fungi from the culture collection in Thailand and their gamma radiation treatment, it was found that only fungi A(sub W) can produce the higher amylolytic mutants called A(sub W)-M(sub 1) and A(sub W)-M(sub 2) in term of raw starch digestion and glucoamylase activities.
