摘要

The use of a smaller and simpler specimen than the standard crack arrest specimens (Robertson, CCA) appears to be more advantageous. Through instrument testing on three-point bending test specimens, the advantages and disadvantages of this type of specimen were to be determined. The selected bending test specimen is suited for determining K(sub Ia): the crack arrest fracture toughness determined with the latter and by means of the CCA-specimen lies within the same dispersion range (material ASTM A 533 B).
