摘要

This report describes the first year's operation of a 100-kW photovoltaic flat-plate system at Beverly High School, Beverly, Massachusetts. Also included in the report are separate first-year reports by Stone and Webster, New England Electric System, and the Beverly Public School System. Over the reporting period, the systems produced nearly 90,000 kWh of electricity valued at nearly $5000 at an average buy-back rate from the utility of 5.78 cents/kWh. The cost of operation and maintenance during this first year was excessive, nearly equal to the total value derived from the energy. The system reliability problems have been addressed, and the operation and maintenance for the next year is expected to be about 10% of the energy value. (ERA citation 10:041517)
