Primary attention for this report period has been directed to factors which influence the intestinal absorption of lead, including: vitamin D and its metabolites; phosphate; and the vitamin D-induced intestinal calcium-binding proteins (CaBP). In addition, studies conducted previously on the intestinal absorption of arsenate have been finalized and studies designed to evaluate the manifestations of strontium toxicity initiated.
