摘要

The current state of the art and commercial potential of active solar heating and cooling systems for buildings, and, in particular, the use of thermal energy storage with these systems are assessed. This assessment is used to determine the need for advanced latent heat storage subsystems in these applications and priorities for their development. Latent storage subsystems are advantageous in applications where their compactness may be exploited. These subsystems could facilitate storage in retrofit applications in which storage would be physically impossible otherwise. (ERA citation 07:043069)
