After a presentation of EDF organization to face the French nuclear programme, the lecture describes the different actions under EDF responsibility during the design, construction, commissioning and operational phases of a nuclear power plant. The lecture is concluded by an identification of the main safety topics identified by EDF as the most sensitive such as feed-back of operational experience, improvement of the knowledge of postaccidental conditions. A particular effort is devoted by EDF to improve them. (Atomindex citation 14:765065)
