CONTROL OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE EMISSION FROM GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANTS Final Report, Volume 2:Laboratory Results and Process Engineering Evaluations
Autoclave testing, utilizing modified Huey procedures, under conditions simulating those anticipated in removing H2S from geothermal steam by scrubbing with CuSO4 has shown that the higher austenitic stain¬less steels will be generally useful materials of construction if con-ditions leading to crevice corrosion can be avoided.nIt is recommended that the scrubbing column end trim for the 100M PPH field test facility be constructed of C20Cb3 and C20 alloys insofar as possible, and that titanium, which is passive under all conditions tested, be considered as back up material.
