The objective of this part (Part IIIB) of the Report is to describe the design, arrangement, thermodynamics, and economics of a 578 Mwe (nominal gross) electric power genera-ting plant equipped with a Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation (FWEC) Atmospheric Fluidized Bed (AFB) boiler.nThis document represents a portion of an overall report describing the conceptual designs of two atmospheric fluidized bed boilers and balance of plants for the generation of electric power and the analysis and comparison of these conceptual designs to a conventional pulverized coal-fired electric power generation plant equipped with a wet limestone flue gas desulfurization system. The reader is cautioned from drawing conclusions from this portion without reviewing the full report. Conclusions regarding the various aspects of this effort are presented in Parts IV and V of this report.
