摘要

To calculate mechanical stress and displacement by the finite element method, the forces acting on the nodes of the volume grid must be known. This report describes the calculation of these nodal forces for the 20-node isoparametric solid element. The nodal forces are calculated from the force density values by using the shape functions, which describe the displacement field within an element. This method is the most accurate one for calculating the forces on the nodes of an element. The program is based on the node numbering used in the finite element programs SOLID SAP IV and SOLID SAP V. A detailed description is given for the special case of toroidal D-coils. The magnetic force densities for this application are calculated with the computer program HEDO2. (Atomindex citation 10:421234)
