摘要

The sediment history of this productive, hardwater lake (Wintergreen Lake in southern Michigan) developed as five periods of increasing eutrophy, each strongly influenced by a hybrid basin morphometry. This morphometry led to higher productivity per unit area by macrophytic plants in littoral waters of the lake than by phytoplankton in pelagic waters. Climate and trophic conditions during each of the five periods between 14,000 and 0 B.P. are postulated. (ERA citation 02:060885)
