摘要

A new simplified method has been developed for obtaining and refining bismuth and lead in saline melts. The impurities are extracted from the crude bismuth acting as the anode via electrolysis in a melt of eutectic mixture of alkaline and alkaline-earth metal halides. Being more electronegative than bismuth, the metals (lead, silver, iron) are anodically dissolved and pass into the electrolyte. When the parting potential is reached, they are precipitated onto the cathode, and the bismuth is concentrated on the anode. (ERA citation 09:002768)
