Computer programs were developed to examine both the Ledinegg instability and the periodic parallel tube instability in a horizontal, forced convection system. The mathematical approach to solve directly the non-linear conservation equations by finite difference techniques was used. Although the accuracy of these programs in predicting the behavior of H-Reactor is not known, Westinghouse and AECL have used similar codes with some measure of confidence to predict behavior in their respective boiling systems.
