The objective of this program is to develop radiation-pasteurization techniques wherein the fresh shelf life of Pacific Coast fishery products can be extended significantly with resultant reduction in spoilage and increase in time for marketing. Our research has been directed toward having certain selected seafood products cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for radiation processing and advanced to the point of commercialization.
