摘要

Steam/uranium hexafluoride mole ratios proved to be another important variable, ratios of about 2:1 giving material of the highest density. The effect on uranium dioxide density of other process variables, such as hydrogen concentration, bed depth, and location of the uranium hexafluoride inlet, was also determined.nDensification of the uranium dioxide particles to about 10.5 g/cc (96% of theoretical density) and reduction of the fluoride content to about 5 ppm was achieved by sintering in hydrogen at about 1700°C.
