An efficient approach to the development of high power CRU's is by extending existing technology. This will ensure early attainment of maximum reliability machinery. Maximum utilization of present technology can be achieved BY applying known scaling criteria to a proven concept.nThe objective of the study was to define sufficient criteria to confidently conduct a systems evaluation. Several alternator and turbine concepts were studied on a preliminary basis. After screening competing concepts, four turboalternator designs, both 15 KWe and 25 KWe CRU's- were analyzed at 12,000 and 24,000 RPH. From these, a 24,000 RPM, 15 KWE CRU and a 12,000 RFM, 25 KWe CRU were analyzed in more detail to provide systems analysis criteria.
