This paper derives approximate relationships between DC and AC short cir¬cuit current gain figures for low level and medium range values of emitter cur¬rent. DC current gain measurements can easily be made for low level emitter currents, but AC small signal current gain measurements are difficult to obtain in this region. For this reason quantitative relations between A and h21cb are desirable for use in the design of ''starved base" amplifiers and similar low level circuitry.
