A summary is made of the performance of copper - tungsten carbide Journal bearings lubricated with a sodium-potassium alloy. Satisfactory bearing performance may be expected if it is possible to establish certain limiting conditions as follows:n1. The establishment of an upper temperature limit based upon the compatibility of the materials during extreme boundary lubrication.n2. The control of the liquid metal corrosion of copper at elevated temperatures.n3. The establishment of controls for the copper "growth" noted during these tests.
