摘要

In certain operations requiring the handling of radium bearing materials, radon is released at rates which may vary over short periods of time. This is especially true in uranium mining operations where pockets of this gas may be exposed, giving a rapid use of concentration of radon within several minutes. It was decided 'therefore to design and build a sampling device which would integrate the concentration of radon over a period of approximately four hours.nThe original intention was merely to build a sampling flask which could be evacuated and sealed and transported to the desired location. The sample was to be taken through a capillary port.
