摘要

In order to apply multimedia technology to the fieldwork support for electric power industry, development trend of multimedia technology suitable for mobile communication, introduction examples in the other industries, and possibility and problems of its introduction to electric power industry have been investigated. For the technology trend concerning the multimedia, it was considerably useful to utilize it in the fieldwork. Various mobile communications, portable terminals with high environmental durability, and peripheral devices of digital camera and GPS have been put into practice. In the other industries, it is generally used for acquiring and supplying numerical data in the business fields. For the purpose of large capacity data communication, such as drawings and pictures, higher-speed and lower-cost mobile communication services are required. Based on the investigation of information trend and future prospect in the works of electric power technology department, it was evaluated that the fieldwork support system provides rather great introduction effects for the witness works of the outside distribution department and underground piping works (city gas and water) conducted by the other companies. 8 refs., 8 figs., 5 tabs.
