摘要

In this study, long and homogeneous time series of runoff and precipitation are studied to identify variations in time and space. The method of empirical orthogonal functions (EOF-method) is applied. Both annual observations, smoothed (using Gauss filter), and seasonal values are analyzed. The analysis shows that the temporal variations in runoff and precipitation coincide. In the filtered series, temporal trends are found. A comparison between the different normal periods has been carried out for precipitation. The 1900-30 and 1960-90 periods differ from the 1930-60 period. This may be caused by different weather types dominating the different periods which are reflected in different empirical orthogonal functions. 11 refs., 20 figs., 1 tab.
