摘要

Statistical distributions of the basic transmission loss on line-of-sight paths in radio relay systems are derived from the model of two-path propagation. These distributions are necessary for calculating the noise. The phase difference and the amplitude ratio of the two waves are assumed to be statistically varying quantities. The distribution functions calculated agree well with measured data, and they show the Rayleigh-like behavior as it is known from experiments. They are influenced substantially by the ratio of fading time and total time. In middle-Europe this time share shows typical annual and diurnal variations. Space and frequency diversity should allow essential improvements of the system performance.
