摘要

This study examines the feasibility of employing an orbital, on-board centrifuge to perform a series of physiological experiments with human sub¬jects in space. It has as its objectives:na. Configuring a baseline orbital centrifuge capable of supporting the specified experiment series.nb. Determining the feasibility of the experiment in terms of cost, safety, reliability, stability, weight and other parameters.nc. Defining a ground-based, engineering development test model of the centrifuge and its corresponding test plan.nd. Determining the effect of cross-coupled angular accelerations on the experiment by performing manned centrifuge tests to evaluate this condition.
