摘要

The emergence of practical composite materials consisting of a metal matrix (commonly aluminum or titanium) reinforced with ceramic particles, whiskers or fibers, either short or continuous, raises many problems of inspection in the nondestructive test (NDT) field. The existing literature is surveyed and comments are made on current understanding.
