The behavior of gamma/gamma' NbC Cotac fiber composites under creep, transverse tension, thermal cycling under stress, and low-cycle fatigue was studied. In creep, it is demonstrated that in Cotac 784 the transfer of load from matrix to fibers is accompanied by a change in the mechanism of plastic deformation of the matrix during a test. In transverse tensile loading, analysis of the failure mechanisms of Cotac 744 and 784 enables qualitative interpretation of their ductility evolution with temperature, in the light of the yield stress of the matrix, the cohesive stress of the grain boundaries, and the cleavage stress of the lamellae of NbC. Thermal cycling causes the creep lifetime of Cotac 744 and 784 to decrease by a factor of 3 at 1100 C. In low-cycle fatigue, Cotac 784 was characterized at 650 C in tension/compression strain-controlled loading.
